This morning, thousands of tailgaters are descending on Iowa City to enjoy some food and beverage before a highly anticipated Hawkeye season kicks off. Unlike Thursday Night’s game in Ames, Iowa fans will enjoy some traditional fall-like weather to start the season.
A cold front which passed through the state a couple days ago has left Iowa with lows this morning well below 50 in some areas. The graphic to the left shows the temperatures as of 4am this morning. I wanted to wait and see just how low we got, but I myself am hitting the road to cheer on the Hawkeyes.
As for severe weather, not much in the offing. Will have to monitor the threat of a weak disturbance on Monday that could bring some strong storms to Iowa. Right now the threat is marginal but bears watching. For now, enjoy a quiet and cool weekend and enjoy some good football wherever you are!
