Many of you have been sending us messages about hearing through the grape vine of the potential for a chance at some measurable snowfall across the state, and especially the eastern part around the 1st of March. As many of you should know by now, anything that is more than three days away is all talk. Yes there is a storm system that is showing up in the models.
The image above is of the 18z GFS and the current track it takes this system. Besides the fact that this system is too far out, but going on the what-if this does verify scenario, the placement of the current track could be an issue. This system is also coming from the southwest and until the system is on the east side of the Rockies, the models will not be able to accurately forecast what the mountains will do to this system.
With all of the factors listed above, it is better to leave this thought in the back of your head and just know that any talk will stay that way, just talk. Do not buy into any snowfall forecast graphics yet as it is WAY too early. We will continue to keep an eye on everything and will begin to update you as we get closer to where it will actually be worth talking about.
On a side note, this afternoon we launched our clothing store on CafePress. This will now allow you to buy ISCN gear year round without having to reach a certain goal before you would actually receive your items. You can find all of the available items at: http://www.cafepress.com/iowachase
