With rapidly warming conditions aloft and a solid snow pack on the ground, the threat of freezing drizzle led the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory for much of the state. You can see the areas affected in the graphic to the right, shaded in blue.
No major ice accumulations are expected, but a glaze to a tenth of an inch of ice could coat area sidewalks and roadways. That could pose a problem to travel this morning. Snow could fall into the late night hours, but again, no major accumulations are expected. We will monitor the situation but do no foresee any major problems with the exception of occasional slick spots on area roads.
