Our cold and snowy pattern will not change much through the weekend with more snow expected across southern Iowa tonight. Snow will begin to enter southwest Iowa around 9 pm this evening. The snow will continue to the east/northeast across southern Iowa.
The heaviest snow will stay around the highway 34 corridor, but snow will be as far north as Interstate 80. The snow will continue to fall throughout the overnight hours, and will eventually to taper off from west to east by sunrise Sunday.
New snowfall amounts will range from one to three inches with the highest end of that range toward the Missouri border. The winds will remain light, but heavy snow at times will reduce visibilities.
