A short wave will slide into the state from the Dakotas and will bring a chance for light snow showers mainly across northern Iowa on Monday. The models have remained consistent so confidence is high with the timing and location of the snow. The main concern with snowfall totals will be the dry air at the midlevels. This will have to be overcome before the snow will begin to fall. This may limit snowfall totals, however, light snowfall totals are still anticipated. Snowfall amounts will be around in inch. Snow will begin to fall tomorrow morning and will continue to fall though late afternoon. Winds will remain strong with this system, and they will increase Monday night, so some areas may see reduced visibilities. Some light snow showers may be possible in central and southeastern Iowa Monday night, however, this will be very light due to the dry air.
