We will be keeping a close eye on the forecast this week, as the beginning of the week looks to be active, with the possibility of severe weather returning. The greatest potential for severe weather will exist across northwest Iowa. There remains some uncertainty though, as storms Tuesday morning could impact how Tuesday afternoon plays out. As of right now, it appears that storms early Tuesday morning will have no impact, and if they do, will clear out early enough in the day that the atmosphere will be able to recover.
All modes of severe weather do appear possible right now. This includes large hail, damaging winds, and possibly and isolated tornado or two. Timing and location will be refined as we near Tuesday. Heavy rain will be a threat this week. Rainfall accumulations through Thursday will be near three inches across much of central and northern Iowa.
