After summer like temperatures on Sunday, cooler weather has returned to the state today. Highs around the state will range from the 40’s to low 50’s. We are tracking the next storm system that will move through the state. This storm system will move through the state on Tuesday, and will bring the chance of heavy rain, freezing rain and even some snow.
Precipitation will move in from the west early Tuesday morning, and will continue to push off to the east through the day. Temperatures will be cold enough that light freezing rain and snow will be possible Tuesday morning across northern Iowa.
Little to no snowfall accumulations or freezing rain accumulations will be expected across northern Iowa.
The bigger story will be the heavy rainfall expected across southern and eastern Iowa. This is where rainfall amounts will range from a half inch to as much as an inch of rain. At this point, no severe weather is expected. Continue to check back to iowachase.com for the very latest updates.
