If you’re a plant lover, you better get outside if you haven’t already. The National Weather Service has posted a frost advisory for far eastern Iowa, especially along the Mississippi River. Tonight’s advisory goes into effect at 1:00am and runs through 8:00 Wednesday Morning.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the middle 30’s tonight. The cold along with clear skies and light winds should allow frost to develop in some areas. This could damage some vegatation so if you have plants you want to keep you better bring them inside.
If you can bring them in, you can also cover them with a blanket to keep them warm enough to prevent frost.
The good news is warmer temperatures are right around the corner, along with the threat of severe weather. We’ll have a full update on the threat coming up in the morning.
