It appears the threat for severe weather in Iowa today is very low. Showers and thunderstorms over the state this morning have helped stabilize things. And with Iowa in the cold sector of this storm system, it does not appear all that likely that any organized severe weather will manage to take shape this afternoon or evening.
If anything were to develop, it would happen in southwest Iowa later this afternoon and into the evening. Although a low chance, we are monitoring that possibility and will bring you updates in case anything develops. In the meantime we will keep our attention on the potential for severe weather Saturday and Sunday. You can find more on those two outbreaks by clicking here.
