Friday Prospects Improve, Flood Threat Remains

As the latest convective outlooks try to pinpoint the timing of any potential outbreaks over the next 48 hours, the primary threat in eastern Iowa looks to be another round of heavy rain.

But there are some renewed possibilities of a “chaseable” day on Friday. The latest 12z runs show the low may shift its track further north and stall a bit, which would aid timing.

As the 0z run is crunched it appears to be an active day either way in eastern Iowa on Friday.  The paramaters are also there for a good setup for low topped supercells and enough shear to spin up some tornadoes.

The heavy rain threat will remain, but the hope is the heaviest precip will stay in the northern portion of the area… stay tuned!
