Today was a windy and cool day. After the cold front moved through early morning, winds gusted up to 40mph. Temperatures today were in the mid to lower 50s, and they will be going downhill quickly this evening.
Overnight lows will dip down in the low to mid 30s. Because of this, a freeze warning has been issued for western Iowa. This freeze warning will go into effect at 4am Saturday and will last through 8am.
Winds will continue to be strong overnight, and this will add an extra bite in the air. The feel like temperature will be in the lower 20s across the north to mid 20s across the south.
We continue to watch for the potential for a few snow flakes mixing in with a chance of showers across northeast Iowa. No accumulations will come from this, but if you live across northeast Iowa, from Mason City to Dubuque, you may see a few snowflakes mixing in.
Moral of the story, tonight is going to be cold. If you will be heading out to Friday night football, you will want to put on those extra layers.
