Freezing Rain Expected Christmas Morning

A freezing rain advisory will be in effect from 6am to noon CST Sunday. Freezing rain is expected to spread across the area on Christmas morning. The freezing rain will persist through much of the morning before changing to all rain by midday as Temperatures slowly warm. Conditions should improve quickly by Sunday afternoon as temperatures continue to climb to near 40.

Storm total ice accumulations of one to two tenths of an inch of glaze is expected during thee morning, with the highest amounts near the Minnesota border.

The freezing rain will make travel hazardous quickly once the precipitation begins. Also, walking on glazed surfaces will become problematic and may lead to slips or falls.
