Freeze Watch Issued Ahead of Freezing Temps

Iowa Freeze Watch

Very windy and cold conditions developing through the end of the week. A freeze watch has been issued for a few counties in southwest Iowa from Thursday night into Friday morning and then again on Friday night into Saturday morning.

Temperatures will be falling around freezing Friday morning, then in the mid 20s Saturday morning. These cold temperatures will result in a killing freeze ending the growing season this year.

A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
