FREEZE WARNING 4/9

Iowa Freeze Warning

Arctic high pressure will settle into the area tonight into Saturday morning. With clear skies and light winds, this will allow temperatures to plummet into the lower to mid 20’s at many locations. This will damage any new growth of sensitive vegetation if no protected.

A freeze warning will be in effect from 1am to 9am Saturday. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 20’s, with many locations below 28 degrees for several hours Saturday morning.

New growth of vegetation will be damaged if sensitive plants are not protected. A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Cover sensitive plants or bring indoors for protection.
