Flash Flood Watch Extreme Northeast Iowa

Another round of thunderstorms is expected across portions of the Upper Mississippi River Valley Friday afternoon through early
Saturday morning. 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is possible with perhaps some localized higher amounts. This expected heavy rainfall, coupled with saturated and some already flooded ground from heavy rainfall last night, could cause some flash flooding issues, including road washouts, mud and rock slides, and rapid river rises and flooding.

The flash flood watch is in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts are possible. Impacts could include flash flooding, additional road washouts, rock and mud slides, and river flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
