Flash Flood Warning Iowa

A flash flood warning has been issued until 6:45pm CDT for southeastern Kossuth, Humboldt, and northwestern Wright county in north central Iowa. At 12:43PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Some locations that will experience flooding include, Dakota City, Humboldt, Eagle Grove, Goldfield, Livermore, Corwith, Lu Verne, Renwick, Thor, St. Joseph, Hardy Irvington, Humboldt Municipal airport, Frank A Gotch State Park and Eagle Grove Municipal Airport.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
