Our first winter storm of the season brought a soaking rain to eastern Iowa, and plenty of snow to parts of central and western Iowa. In the Denison area, 10” of snow was reported this morning. The Winter Storm Warning in effect for this area is set to expire by noon today. Travel remains treacherous in parts of western Iowa where snow and wind are wreaking havoc and giving area road crews a lot to handle so early in the season.
The picture to the left was taken in Carroll around 2am Saturday Morning by meteorologist and storm, chaser Brian Travers. To see more of Brian’s pictures check out this photo gallery. You can see the limited visibility caused by the snow and the impact it’s having on area roads. As of 9 this morning travel was still not advised in portions of western Iowa. And if you have photos of the storm, you can send them to us with information by emailing [email protected]
