After a hot and humid Thursday, relief is on the way! A cold front is working across the the country Thursday afternoon and will continue to move across the state by Thursday evening. Highs tomorrow will range from the upper 60s across northwest Iowa to the mid 70s across southeast Iowa. The biggest change, will be the dew points. Today our dew points were in the 70s, and when our dew points are in the 70s, it feels like a sauna outside. Tomorrow our dew points will be in the upper 40s to mid 50s. To sum it up, today felt like summer, Friday will feel like fall.
Some of you may be asking well how long it this fall like weather going to last? Well, the Climate Prediction Center has placed all of Iowa under a below average temperature probability into next week. Well what’s average for the second week in September? Average should be in the upper 70s. So into next week, you can plan on temperatures to be in the 70s! About time isn’t it?!
The Climate Prediction Center also has below average temperatures carrying over into the 8 to 14 day outlook. It appears that fall has finally decided to make an appearance and will be sticking around for some time. This weekend will be beautiful for football games, so get outdoors and enjoy it!
