There is an enhanced risk of severe storms over and south of the Red River Valley from the southern panhandle and south plains region of Texas, east/southeastward to northeast Texas today.

Scattered thunderstorms will pose a risk of damaging wind, a few tornadoes, and very large/destructive hail over part of the southern plains today and this evening. A few thunderstorms also might intensify briefly to severe levels today from the mid Atlantic region to the southern Appalachians.

Our team along with KCCI meteorologist Jason Sydejko is in this area this morning, and will be streaming LIVE beginning at 3pm CDT.
