Strong storms moved into north central Iowa during the early morning hours Sunday July 17th, causing damage to Eagle Grove, Fort Dodge, and Steamboat Rock. The National Weather Service in Des Moines has rated this damage as straight line wind, with wind speeds of 85 to 90-mph. Multiple buildings were impacted along with hundreds of trees downed, along with crop damage. These storms also brought heavy rainfall to northern Iowa and resulted in flash flooding to some locations, including Mason City.
