Dense Freezing Fog through Afternoon

Abundant low level moisture and light winds have caused dense fog to become widespread across eastern Iowa, northwest and western Illinois, and extreme northeast Missouri. Visibilities will be frequently 1/4 mile or less for much of the remainder of the day.

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 3pm this afternoon. Visibilities will be less than one quarter of a miles.

Freezing fog may cause roadways and walkways to become slippery. Anyone traveling today should allow extra travel time due to slippery roads and reduced visibility.
