While Iowa’s weather turns quiet and pleasant this week, conditions in the Atlantic are becoming ripe for hurricane development. Enter Tropical Storm Danielle, the 4th named storm in the Atlantic this year. Still a long ways off from any landmass, the storm should reach hurricane strength later this week.
Long range models are currently forecasting Danielle to eventually pass close to Bermuda, but at the earliest that would happen next weekend. All in all things remain somewhat quiet both in the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. But we’re creeping up on the time of year generally most active for hurricanes. Something to keep an eye out for to be sure.
