Light snow will be possible today across western Iowa, with accumulations under an inch. Colder air will be moving into the state this evening, and with a north northwest wind of 10 to 15 mph, this is going to make for bitter cold wind chills.
Wind chills are expected to reach -20° by midnight tonight across north central to northwestern Iowa. Wind chills will continue falling to -25° by sunrise Tuesday morning. Temperatures will be in the single digits below zero. Wind chills will reach -20° to -25°. Frostbite will be possible to exposed skin within 30 minutes.
Temperatures will warm up a bit later on in the week, with our next chance of precipitation moving through Friday and Saturday.
