For those of you who have long hair, Friday is going to be a bad hair day. Winds will be sustained at 18 to 22-mph, with gusts near 30-mph. The good thing to come from the strong southerly winds, is that it will help crank up the temperatures. Highs will be near record levels by Friday afternoon. Highs will be well into the 70’s, and a few 80’s will be likely across western and southern Iowa.
The strong winds will continue into the weekend, so make sure to plan ahead for that. A weak cold front will move through the state Saturday, dropping temperatures back into the 60’s.
