Another Windy Day Wednesday

Wednesday will be another very windy day, notably windier than yesterday (Monday) was. A wind advisory will be in effect from 9am to 6pm Wednesday.

Winds should be strong from around 10 am through 7 pm, peaking during the afternoon commute. Northwest winds of 20 to 30-mph should be expected, with gusts of 40 to 45 mph, possibly even reaching 50-mph in northern Iowa at times. Make sure loose outdoor objects are secured and travel with extra caution, especially if traveling in a high-profile vehicle!

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 to 39 mph are expected for one hour or longer, or winds of 45 to 57 mph for any duration. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
