Scattered strong to severe storms with hail and damaging winds are expected this afternoon and evening from western upper Michigan through Wisconsin, southeast Minnesota to northern Iowa. A marginal risk of severe storms surrounds the slight risk area and extends southwest through western Iowa.
On Monday, the severe threat will shift to southern Iowa. This is where a few severe thunderstorms appear possible by Monday afternoon and evening. Once again the main threats will be large hail and damaging winds.
When making your plans for the week ahead, you will want to be making indoor plans. After Monday, rain will continue to stick in our forecast every day through the rest of the week and even into next weekend. Rain totals are going to be on the heavy side. Over the next seven days, 2″ to 4″ of rainfall will be accumulating. The severe potential after Monday looks to be fairly low, however, a few isolated storms may be severe later on in the week.
