Above Average November

One month temperatue outlook above normal

Today, if you stepped outside, it sure didn’t feel like November 1st. Temperatures today are almost 20 degrees above average. For those of you who hate the cold, this is a nice treat from Mother Nature. However, this has left many of you asking, will we be paying for this, later this month.

The Climate Prediction Center has released their temperature outlook for the month of November, and it sure doesn’t appear that we will be paying for it later this month. The outlook for November is a mild month, with above average temperatures.

This does not mean that temperatures will continue to be in the 70’s all the way through November. This outlook simply means that temperatures will be above the average through the month, which the average temperature will continue to fall.  Today’s average high around the state ranges from the upper 50’s across southern Iowa, to the low 50’s across northern Iowa.
