A slight change in the outlook from the Storm Prediction Center. As you can see to the left, they have narrowed the slight risk down, but still focus it on Iowa. Storms are expected to redevelop tonight and into tomorrow morning. It’s possible we could see an event similar to last night. There’s little risk of tornadoes or large hail. Strong damaging winds would be the primary threat the state will face once storms get going.
Otherwise, flooding is something many areas will keep an eye on. After widespread reports of 2-3” of rain, a flash flood watch is posted for many areas as additional heavy rainfall could make matters worse. We’ll monitor tonight’s severe weather threat and bring you updates as well as launch live coverage when/if needed.
